Containerised generator sets are common on data centre projects because they shift work from the site to the factory. The enclosure, base frame, cooling, fuel system and wiring are completed and tested before shipment, which shortens on-site installation.

The format also standardises transport. An ISO container footprint moves on normal road and sea logistics, and the same enclosure protects the equipment during transit and in service.
